Here is an 11-minute video about the 8 of Cups that was mentioned in Episode 002 - what it shows; contrasted with some other cards; considered on its own.
When you have a simple idea about the meaning of a card, it's easy to dismiss it and try to find something significant or earth-shattering to say. However, simple is often, or usually, better and gives you confidence in your reading.
I get an error message when trying to upload to blogger, so I'll try to embed it, but here too is the link to the video on YouTube:

Episode 002 - Contents
The first main point was about everyone starting their own blog if they haven't already done so. It's free on www.blogger.com and on www.wordpress.com.
Post as much or as little as you want and send me the URL so we can all take a look at what you are doing. You ask yourself questions and listen to your own thoughts for the answer.
The idea is that you will be more able to develop understanding, rather than make lists of "meanings". When you discover something for yourself, it's yours and you don't forget it.
The second main point was about the "read" in "reading cards". What we say ought to have something to do with the card, or be triggered by it rather than plucked out of thin air or be just a psychic impression that may or may not have any validity.
If we read the card by looking at the picture while thinking of the question, we should be able to make a connection that will help to answer the question that has been asked.
Some problems are easy to solve; others are much more difficult and complicated. We can't say much in a short consultation, but we can recommend a good book or two that the questioner can spend time with later, that will give him or her a decent foundation to build on. I like Vernon Howard and Eric Butterworth.
Who would be your choice to recommend?
The next show is at 11pm EST on Thursday evening, December 23, 2010. The call-in number is 714.364.4503.

Follow-up to the Test Broadcast
Debbie called in to say that she wasn't sure how to interpret the 10 of Swords in the 8th House of a horoscope spread. You can see the 8th as the House of Death, and with a Sword card there, and especially with the image on the Rider deck version of this card, we can see how it might be hard to make sense of it.
A natal horoscope will show how and where you will die. You look at the planets, signs, house and aspects involved and put together a few scenarios. One of them will be right.
However, it's generally not important or even particularly useful to have this information, so we're not looking for a chart or for a horoscope spread to tell us much in this area.
The 8th is also the House of Regeneration. This means it will tell you what sort of changes or improvements can be implemented - and this is, or can be, useful and valuable.
The video below (less than 8 minutes) explains something that wasn't covered during the show.
